Those black streaks running down a Georgia roof are a living organism — Gloeocapsa magma, an algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Pressure washing a roof removes granules, voids most manufacturer warranties and shortens the life of the roof. Soft washing is the only method we will use.
We apply a shingle-safe cleaning solution at low pressure, let it kill the algae and moss, and let the next rains carry the residue away. The roof begins lightening immediately and continues clearing over the following days without a single pass of mechanical force.

Our process

Inspect the roof condition, pitch, flashing and any loose or damaged shingles.

Fully saturate every plant, shrub and lawn area below the roofline and downspout outlets.

Apply the soft wash solution evenly from a safe working position.

Allow the treatment to dwell and neutralize the organic growth.

Final rinse of downspout discharge points and a second full watering of all landscaping.
Roof Cleaning FAQs
Will roof cleaning damage my shingles?
No. We never use pressure on a roof. Soft washing is the method recommended by shingle manufacturers and their trade association.
How soon will the roof look clean?
You will see substantial change the same day; the remaining staining continues to fade over the following one to three weeks as the dead algae washes off with rain.
How often do CSRA roofs need this?
Typically every three to five years, sooner on heavily shaded roofs under pines and hardwoods.
